Mr. Trembley joined Collaborative Neuroscience Research in 2018 and serves as its CFO. He was appointed the CFO of Apex in 2021. After graduating college, he spent the next 20 years working in investment banking and private equity.

Bobbie Theodore, M.S.
As a founding member of Clinical Trial Centers Alliance, Ms. Theodore has been affiliated with many Apex leaders for over 20 years. Her role began with the start-up of Collaborative Neuroscience Research and has grown to oversee sponsor relations and business development for all sites and services around the U.S. under the Apex Alliance umbrella.
Shawna Cote, M.S., CCRA, CCRC
Having led the administration of Pacific Research Partners (PRP), an affiliate of Collaborative Neuroscience Research (CNS) located in Oakland, CA, since its inception in 2010, Ms. Cote was elevated to her current position in January 2020. She brought with her over 10 years’ experience as a Contract Research Monitor and a 14-year history of site management.
Tom Zoda, Ph.D.
Bringing almost 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical trials industry, Dr. Zoda joined Apex in 2021. In his role as COO, he works with the executive team to develop and implement strategies to grow Apex as a market leader in the Phase I-III clinical trials space. He is responsible for oversight of all operations and business development activities.
Brett A. English, Pharm.D., Ph.D.
An accomplished clinical researcher, basic scientist, and psychiatric pharmacist, Dr. English joined Apex in 2021 to provide strategic direction and leadership to the Scientific Affairs team, medical/scientific guidance and training to clinical project teams, and consultation and support services to pharmaceutical companies. Specialized in translational neurosciences, he has deep expertise in early phase program planning and electrophysiology, imaging, and pharmacodynamic biomarker applications.
Larry Ereshefsky, Pharm.D., BCPP, FCCP
Dr. Ereshefsky joined Hassman Research Institute as CSO, Early Phase Development in early 2017. One year later he accepted the same role with Collaborative Neuroscience Research, enhancing the partnership between the two companies with his wide-ranging expertise. He facilitated the strategic merger in 2019 to expand on the partnership’s leadership in the field, culminating years of collaboration in the formation of Apex. Dr. Ereshefsky has been instrumental in harmonizing the scientific, technological, and clinical processes across organizations, enabling the seamless execution of trials with the enrollment benefits of bi-coastal operations.
David Walling, Ph.D.
Dr. Walling co-founded Collaborative Neuroscience Research (CNS) in 2000 to advance medical knowledge through the execution of clinical trials. His operational and strategic leadership has enabled the growth of CNS into one of the largest clinical research providers in the US. He is a principal investigator for many studies at the inpatient unit in Long Beach as well as the outpatient clinic in Garden Grove. Dr. Walling advises pharmaceutical companies in numerous ways including the creation of drug development plans, design and analysis of clinical trials in all phases, and preparation for interactions with regulatory agencies.
Howard Hassman, D.O., AOBFP
Dr. Hassman has over 37 years of experience in clinical research. His strategic vision and commitment to the highest standard of quality has helped establish HRI as a leading clinical research organization since its founding in 2015. The growth of HRI is highlighted by the opening of the Marlton location, where Dr. Hassman currently conducts trials, in 2019.
