Sleep

Apex has conducted dozens of Phase I-IV sleep clinical trials.

Our experience includes over 20 studies involving early phase experimental medicine strategies for evaluating sleep architecture, arousal, and daytime impairment as well as over 15 late phase studies using polysomnography (PSG) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sleep-promoting drugs.

CNS and HRI both have longstanding relationships with nearby AASM accredited sleep centers with technical staff certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Additionally, CNS has an in-house three-bed sleep lab overseen by certified PSG technicians. It has a control room and sleep rooms that meet AASM requirements for sound/light control with through-the-wall IV sampling capabilities. We have extensive experience using actigraphy monitoring devices including the Actiwatch and evaluating drug effects with the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and the Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT).

Indication experience:

  • Excessive Daytime Sleepiness
  • Insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD)
  • Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS)
  • Sleep Apnea

Therapeutic Areas

We have an outstanding track record of success in the conduct of Phase I-IV trials across the central nervous system and internal medicine disorders.
